Conference of German-Australian History and Heritage

17-19 August 2018, University of Adelaide, South Australia

The German-Australian Genealogy and History Alliance, in conjunction with History Helper and the South Australian Migration Museum, is proud to bring you GAGHACon 2018, themed "Australisches Deutschtum: Reconnections - Recollections - Resilience". This conference will be the first time researchers from across Australia will gather to network and discuss German-Australian history, heritage and culture.

A great opportunity to network with researchers and members of the German-Australian community.

Come along and bridge the gap between academic, public and popular history and historians.

Present your story: Consider telling your story whether it be from research, a project, an exhibition or your society. Let other's know what is happening around Australia.

Listen to others: Hear from some of the finest researchers in Australia and overseas discuss their projects and help you undertake and present your own research, whether it be family history, cultural heritage, or social history. Hear from International German Genealogy Partnership Ambassador Dirk Weissleder and professional German genealogist Andrea Bentschneider (from Who Do You Think You Are?)

Full weekend bookings include access to all Conference Sessions and:

  • Catered lunch, and breaks both days (free)
  • Opening Reception on Friday Night (free)
  • One tour or workshop on Friday (free)
