Free Learning Opportunities (Genealogy Lunch Bunch)
11:30 to 13:00 at City of Ottawa Archives, 100 Tallwood Drive (Room 115)
Heather Oakley will talk about some of the FREE ways to upgrade your knowledge about genealogy and the various aspects of research. If you are new to family history research or need a refresher, come out and join us! Sessions are free and open to all. You are invited to bring a “brown bag” lunch to eat while we hold a presentation or a Research Workshop. Coffee and tea will be available throughout the sessions. Presents "Discovering the History in the Humanity" by Jennifer DeBruin UE
Over 16 years ago, Jennifer began to do genealogy as a way to explore her family history. Like the rest of us, she captured the history of her ancestors with facts to frame her pedigree. More particularly, she used her research and writing to journey with her ancestors to "discover the humanity in the history."

Kingston Branch of Ontario Ancestors - 56 Francis St, Kingston, Ontario

Join us at the monthly meeting of the Kingston Branch of Ontario Ancestors for a presentation by Judy Neville.
“Giving British Home Children a Voice” - This presentation gives a voice to over 100,000 children who were sent to Canada between the 1860s and 1940s and most often never revealed what growing up was like in that era.
There will be a very short business meeting at 10am, and then the presentation by Judy Neville.

Kingston & District Branch of the United Empire Loyalists' Association of Canada

Nathan, a high school history teacher in Waterdown, Ontario, has authored several books and won numerous awards. His topic will be “Exploring Kinship Through Her Majesty's Chapels Royal" — these include Christ Church, Her Majesty's Chapel Royal of the Mohawk near Deseronto. All welcome.
