TOPIC: Accessing and Using wills and Probate records

If you've ever wondered how you as a genealogist can make optimum use of wills and probate records to aid in your family research, then join us at the Brentwood Library on September 21. Attorney Paul White will be sharing his expertise! Paul graduated from University of TN, Knoxville, with a BA in Honors History and attained his Doctor of Jurisprudence from the Nashville School of Law. He is the author of Taproots: a Virginia Carolina Legacy (1978, 1986) as well as numerous articles for genealogical and historical journals. His hobbies include genealogical and historical reading, research, and writing—and collecting antique cars. He is a member of The Nashville and TN Bar Associations, Sons of the American Revolution, Sons of Confederate Veterans, The Huguenot Society, and a variety of antique car clubs.

Be sure to stick around after the main program for another installment of Dr. David Dowell's "DNA Chat."

Refreshments will be served following the program.

10th Genealogy Jamboree and Pioneer Days Cumberland Gap, Tennessee

A FREE FAMILY EVENT. We'll have Genealogical and Historical groups, Lectures, Hand made crafters, Living History and Surname Tents all in the Historic Town of Cumberland Gap, Tennessee. The Cumberland Gap National Historic Park will also be celebrating the 200th anniversary of Newlee Iron Furnace "located in Cumberland Gap" with their Living History at the park and Living History at the Iron Furnace.
