Dr. Bond is an Associate Professor of History at University of Memphis.
Her research focuses on black women in Memphis from the early 1800s to the
beginning of the twentieth century with a particular focus on antebellum enslaved
and free black women.

Genealogy trip to Poland - 5/7/18 to 5/20/18

THE ROAD HOME
A genealogy oriented trip to Poland and Ukraine
With certified American and Polish genealogists Jonathan Shea and Aleksandra Kacprzak.
The trip includes opportunities to visit your ancestral village.
The Road Home trip will leave from New York on 5/7/18 and return on 5/20/18.
The trip cost is $2,995* per person, double occupancy if you sign up by November 1, 2017. After November 1, 2017 the trip cost is $3,195* per person, double occupancy. There will be an additional $450 fee for single occupancy. The cost includes airfare between New York JFK and Krakow, hotels, three meals daily, professional tour guide, private tour bus, and admission to scheduled attractions.
You must sign up for the trip by December 20, 2017 and submit a $300 nonrefundable deposit and fill out the pre trip questionnaire.
You must pay for your trip in full by (nonrefundable) by February 1, 2018.
You must have a valid passport for this trip.
If you are traveling alone, would you want a roommate and save the single supplement charge?
Please let us know if you would like a roommate and we will try to accommodate you.

Monday, May 7: Depart from New York on LOT, overnight flight to Krakow.
Tuesday, May 8: Arrive in Kraków: Mariacki church – St.Mary’s Basilica, museum of Krakow (under the Cloth Hall) with tour guide. Dinner: Kraków. Night: Kraków
Wednesday, May 9: Auschwitz museum, Częstochowa - Jasna Góra
Night: Częstochowa
Thursday, May 10: Wadowice: Holy Father John Paul II Family Home,
Żywiec-Brewery Museum. Dinner in Zakopane with live music. Night: Zakopane.
Friday, May 11: Zakopane: Aerial Tramways to Kasprowy Wierch, shopping in Krupówki, rafting on Dunajec River. Night: Sanok.
Saturday, May 12: Sanok: Outdoor Museum, Solina Dam, Polańczyk, Cruise on Solina lake. Night: Bieszczady.
Sunday, May 13: Hiking or narrow-gauge railroad to Połonina Wetlińska, visit to Przemyśl’s old town. Night: Przemyśl
Monday, May 14: State Archives in Przemyśl. Travel to the Ukraine. Visit to several Ukraine villages. Night: Lwów
Tuesday, May 15: Lwów, including the State Archives. Night: Lwów.
Wednesday, May 16: Visiting sites in the Ukraine. Night: Zamość.
Thursday, May 17: Zamość-fortress and old town, Sandomierz-old town and cathedral. Night: Sandomierz.
Friday, May 18: Ujazd, Krzyżtopór Palace, Wieliczka Salt Mine. Night: Kraków
Saturday, May 19: Kraków: Wawel Castle, city touring, Chopin concert. Night: Kraków.
Sunday, May 20: After breakfast, depart for New York.
