May 15-19 - 2017 Western European Family History Conference and Webinar

The Family History Library and the research specialists of the European Reference team invite you to a free week-long conference focused exclusively on Western European research. The conference, which will be held May 15-19, 2017, is perfect for beginning and intermediate genealogists interested in learning about records of Western European localities, and Family History Library collections.

Come and spend a week at the world renowned Family History Library learning from our expert staff of genealogists as well as experienced guest genealogists or attend via webinar. Learn how to effectively use historical records and how to do research in several European countries. Explore such topics as census, church, immigration, and vital records. Learn more about German, French, Swiss, Netherlands, Luxembourg and Belgium research. Discover new techniques, strategies, and methodology to apply to your genealogical research problems.
All classes will be held in the main floor classrooms.
Seating is limited, so be sure to register early to secure a spot. All classes will also be offered via webinar.

October 28-29 - 2016 Family Roots Expo - St. George, UT

Family history research is an exciting way to learn more about yourself and your family. Sometimes knowing where to begin is a challenge. Keynote Speakers and Presenters
Start the morning with motivation and inspiration as you listen to world renowned keynote speakers beginning Friday and Saturday at 9:00 am and then concluding each afternoon at 4:30 pm.

Customizable Classes
After being inspired by Keynote Speakers, find your perfect classes. YOU choose your itinerary and attend the classes rated as beginning, intermediate or advanced. Choose classes that exactly fit your desired experience to start your journey of family history exploration, or advance your skill set to overcome a family history roadblock. Expert presenters offer a variety of topics, hands on training, specific skill sets and engaging curriculum. Learn new apps and technology to share your family history on Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest and Memories. With 13 Class Rooms offering a choice of more than 50 classes over the 2-day period, you are sure to find classes to help you in your journey.

Youth Workshops
Unique to Family Roots Expo are our Youth Workshops on Saturday. Telling your story is part of genealogy and there are so many fun and tech savvy resources available. The Youth will love these workshops that introduce kids and teens to family history by providing classes specifically designed to cater to their experience. These classes are technology based and fun ways to get youth excited and involved in family history.

Exhibitor Hall
At the heart of your hands-on experience is close to 100 exhibitors all in one place. Explore the variety of all the latest tools and many resources available to find, learn, preserve and share your story. Doors open to the Expo Hall at 10 am on both days and stay open till 7 pm on Friday and 6 pm on Saturday.

Saturday night, close out your amazing Family Roots Expo experience with a live performance from Alex Boyé! Recording Artist, YouTube sensation and entertaining phenomenon! A concert you won’t want to miss!
